Poetry on Facebook

So Samantha and myself were talking about poetry over Facebook and we decided that we should try writing some together. I got on Facebook a couple days later and saw the first six lines down below waiting for me! I got excited and just started writing another verse. Since this was Samantha's first time, I gave her a color. Damon Samantha

(Untitled)
The waves were crashing,
Sails were thrashing,
The wood groaned,
The sailors moaned,
The rain pelted,
And hopes melted.

The waters rose,
The men all froze,
The dark blue wall,
Began to fall.
The roiling wave,
Beginning to cave,
Bent over the boat,
Just barely afloat.

And when it fell,
The men all yelled
And the timbers smashed,
As the waves crashed.

Greenberg, Idaho

Greenberg, Idaho
Bored, bored, bored
And the words pound me down
I write more, more, more
It's the terror of the town

Greenberg, Idaho
With nothing much to do
Welcome to our town
With absolutely nothing new

The words are my waves
In a place with no ocean
My stories keep me awake
Keep me constantly in motion

In a town with low crime rates
but suicide rates so high
You always better mean it
Whenever you say good-bye

We've lost countless citizens
to the melancholy of being still
it takes effort to keep moving
lack of passion will kill

So I write to escape
and I write to find joy
and perhaps I also write
To create the perfect boy

Because pimply, peeping Billy
And greasy, gross Todd
Are all Greenberg has to offer
I mean, for the love of God!

So I slide into my stories
Entering a magical land
With the elves and dragons
And Demetrius John Fredand

I love my mystical world
The gnomes are fun, surely
But it's handsome Demetrius who moves my pen
With his black hair long and curly

Oh Demetrius! Sweet Demetrius
With lips so soft and red
What I would love to do with you
In in a soft, feathery bed

So as my neighbors live in agony
Boring themselves to their end
Demetrius and I will spend the night
His love my stillness will mend

'Till I forget Greenberg, Idaho
A town with nothing much to do
Disappearing with Demetrius
Where there is always something new
