So, Cassie Clare is holding an open Clockwork Angel art competition with the prize being one ARC of Clockwork Prince (!!!). My friends and I took this as an excuse to dress up in fun costumes and take ridiculous pictures. Here is the product: three sets of photographs depicting us cosplaying as five characters from Clockwork Angel. Set One is character profiles; Set Two is character reactions if they ever were to get their hands on a copy of Clockwork Angel; Set Three is various moments from or based on the book, and even one a moment from a teaser for Clockwork Prince.

Without further ado, please enjoy our final product!

The AP Spanish Test

The day after the Spanish AP test, Damon and I wrote a little celebratory poem, and I just got around to posting it now. Enjoy.

In the Midst of APs

Here we are, we have succeeded,
To pancakes and candy we have been treated,
We worried and sweated
And foolishly fretted,
Keeping up a steady whine,
But in the end we were fine.

The truth is we're not quite finished yet
To next Wednesday our sights we must set
Two more tests we must face
Let's study in case
There's a chance we can pass
But my resolve's fragile as glass

What you have said is true,
And I admit that with rue,
However the hardest is done,
Now is time for a little fun,
Because this is a great chance,
To calm, relax, and "dance."

Your optimism disgusts me
I'm full of distrust, see
My knowledge isn't enough
I really don't know my stuff
I sit back with a sigh
At least I can try

That's all you can do,
So please, don't you stew,
You have a fine brain,
As right as rain,
Fast as five Mac's
And full of facts.

I suppose that you're right
Pass these tests, I just might
But we'll just have to wait
Until that far-off July date
When the grades come
It's not going to be fun.

Peculiar Deaths

Today's poem! This one started because Damon was avoiding chemistry work, which apparently had something to do with a man by the first name of Charles, so he decided to write a poem about the guy instead of do the chemistry work. The stanzas are mostly unrelated, but these actually maintain a similar rhyme scheme, so that's nice. They're pretty entertaining to read aloud. We could not figure out what to call it...ideas would be appreciated. :) For now I'll have a stand-in title. Once again, I'm purple and Damon is green.

Collections of Stanzas Discussing Death

Charles, Charles, always such a fry,
So sad that he just had to die,
His mother always warned him of the drugs,
And now his body is eaten by bugs.

Death in a most original way
I looked up in fear, watched the books sway
Thousands of stories, piled up high
But I suppose death by books is a good way to die

And what about Brooke?
You know she loved books,
But to sharks she was prey,
When she drowned in the bay.

Okay, I admit I should have seen it coming
But right now I need to focus on running
They always say "let sleeping dragons lie"
But I'm a dare-devil, so today's when I die

I know not why you have to be so,
As high-strung as a crossbow,
But when you do things such as that,
I feel we need to sit and have a small chat!

We're stuck in this hole, there's no way out
No one can hear us, although we both shout
So now it appears we've met our end
But the question is, who will eat their friend?

First Poem- House of Cards

So, now that Damon and I have successfully concoted two back-and-forth style poems, we thought it'd be fun to put them up on a blog so you guys could read them if you like.

Here's the first one we did, titled "House of Cards". It started with me writing a poem in math class, and in Spanish I passed it to Damon. He responded with two four-line stanzas, and it went on from there. The rhyme scheme jumps around, but I was excited by how it turned out. Purple represents my writing, and green Damon's.

House of Cards

This careful balance is a house of cards
Every move's a danger, we must keep our guard
I'm not sure how much longer I can live vicariously
Trapped in a state of uncertainty

How much higher will you stack the cards?
Everything's fine, you're making this too hard
But I can't pull back your hand, it's far too late
Any quick movement could be your last mistake

You know the time's past to change your mind
So you pretend that everything is fine
Come on, we both know this is how we'll die
You know I know, so you might as well explain why

The cards, they wobble as you remove your hand
As our eyes meet, I can tell you understand
You lean forward; I want to look away
But now that it's over I find that I can stay

Your fist hits our precarious structure
As each card falls, I feel my heart rupture
Blood seeps through my clothes, through yours
We grasps hands and close the final door

Part 2

Why a house made out of cards?
It seems a little unnerving,
That this all has to be so hard
When my resolve for you is unwavering

Why don't we start this all anew?
Switch cards for strong bricks
To always support you,
When nothing else will do the fix

But you've spent so long building
Our house out of thin little strings
To take it down one by one could be difficult
What horror a collapse could bring!
I trusted you to take care of us
And I trust you to this day
If this path was always our destiny
They from me there will be no dismay

If collapse is what we wish not of
Then bad, would be a house of strands!
This, my peace offer, my dove
A strong base of my bare hands

Better for which to start your trust,
On a foundation as of stone
I believe and agree you must,
That life is faced better, when not alone
